Essay topics:

The line graphs below show the production and demand for steel in million tonnes and the number of workers employed in the steel industry in the UK in 2010.

The supplied line graphs in combination delineates the amount of steel produced versus its actual demand in the market and the number of employees in the steel industry in the United Kingdom in 2010. Units for steel are measured in million tonnes.

A glance at the graphs reveals that steel production was more than its demand for the whole year except in December when it was vice versa. In case of workers employed, a noticeable decline in the numbers can be observed.

Now turning to details, the amount of steel manufactured in January was 4000 million tonnes after which it increased dramatically and reached to its peak at 5000 million tonnes before falling again to same amount. This value plateaued till July. During this time period, the demand of steel was fluctuating between 2000 to 3000 million tonnes. A significant downward trend can be seen in the production in last three month of the given year whereas demand reduced to 0 and then exceeding to 2000 million tonnes production in December .

As is presented in the second graph, the number of workers were 5000 in January and were maximum in the following month(around 5600). A rapid fall can be seen in the employees of steel industry till March. With the decrease in production of steel, the workers also reduced in December to 1000 after oscillating for eight months.
