The maps depict some changes that were made to Freton between the years 1990 and 2012.
It is noticeable that many changes were made to Freton.
In both maps, it is clear that school and library were the places that were being kept in the period shown. To the north of the maps, there were four main changes. The “playing field with tree” was demolished and then was replaced by the “blocks of flats”. Next to the “school”, while the “bank” was converted into a restaurant, the “hospital” was expanded. Besides, the “trees” were chopped down to turned into a “technopark”.
In the north of the maps, all the places were changed. Alongside the “high street”, the “flats” have appeared and the “café and park” was transformed into “hotel and golf course”. Furthermore, the “theatre” and “shops” were knocked down consecutively and replaced by the “cinema” and the “supermarket”. Finally, the “blocks of flats” were erected to replace the “houses”.
