Essay topics:

The maps below show the center of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given maps illustrate the current layout and proposed alterations to a town named Islip.
Overall, the town will experience a radical change with the erection of the dual carriageway encircling most of the settlement. It is also pronounced that the town will become more inhabited and various amenities will be provided.
At present, the long main road running from west to east divides the town intro two parts with two rows of shops on both sides. The northern land of the town is undeveloped while the southern land is the residential area. There are two subsidiary roads to the west and east of the main road, going southwards to the school and the park respectively.
The planned scheme shows radical changes to Islip. The new carriageway will be constructed, enclosing most of the area, except for the school about to be widened and one housing estate. The access to the present main road will be denied; instead, it is exclusively devoted to walkers. In the north, the chain of shops will be replaced by the cluster of community facilities with the big bus station, shopping center and car park. Adjacent to those facilities will be new residences; there will also be a new neighborhood to the southeast of the town, with the park made smaller later for its space. The houses located on the south will be shifted further southwest. The southern line of stores will be unchanged.
