The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
The presented maps illustrate Islip town centre at the precent time and how it is planned to be developed in the future.
Overall, although the town center will be sinificantly changed, several places will be located on the same sites.
Firstly, it is clear that the school on the south-west of town centre and the park on the south-east will be located where they are nowadays. But the square of the park is being planned to decrease and will be given for new housing. Besides, housing on the South of centre will be shifted to the East a little and shops in the middle of Islip will be located almost on the same spot.
Regarding new constructions, the dual carriageway will exchange the main road, further this area will be allowed only for pedestrians. Countryside and North row of shops will be replaced by the bus station, new shopping centre, the car park and new housing.
