The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plan for its development
The pictures depict Islip town centre’s current layout as well as the planned layout for its redevelopment.
Overall, the town will undergo a considerable transformation over the period. Additionally, Islip town centre will witness some radical changes and have a completely new look with more top-notch facilities and infrastructures, including a bus station, a shopping centre and a dual carriageway.
The most noticeable is that a dual carriageway will be constructed and surround all the town. In the north of the town, the countryside and the shops north of main road will be demolished to the introduction of a bus station, shopping centre, car park and new housing from west-to-east the town centre. However, the main road will be available exclusively to pedestrians.
In the south of the town, the housing and the park will be narrowed to allow for the construction of new housing. In addition, the school will remain its location.
