The maps below show changes to the ground floor plan of a university department in 2000 and 2015.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The given map presents the ground floor layout of a university department during a period of time from 2000 to 2015.
Overall, the base floor witnessed a few novel changes with the inclusion of more seminar rooms and erection of the IT center and car park.
In the year 2000, the department floor was genuinely simple, consisting of only 3 rooms for workshops; next to the room S3 stood a small library and an office. There was a medium-length corridor along the rooms, running to the main entrance. The surrounding area was totally natural with some trees.
15 years later, the floor experienced massive changes which made it more modern. Two more seminar rooms facing each other were added, and the corridor along the two room blocks was lengthened to fit the new structure. To the east of these rooms, the office was extended for more capacity. Outside trees were chopped down to make way for the new IT center attached to the relocated library. Down to the south, the large car park was constructed to accommodate faculty members’ vehicles. The only component which stayed unchanged was the main entrance; it was left untouched for over 10 years.
