Essay topics:

The maps show the change of an office building between the present and the future. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The maps illustrate the future development of an office building comparing to its present layout.

Overall, it can be seen that more zones will be indicated for officers and the two grasslands will be used mostly for people to sit and meet.

Looking at the existing layout, as you walk in the entrance, the first thing you see is the bathroom in front of the stockroom. While the hall is divided into two parts by a corridor, there are four offices on the left with the kitchen, canteen, and stockroom in the opposite. It is also noticed that the two outside grass areas located at the West and the East of this building and there is another entrance on the West where staff can enter through.

As the future plan proposed, the enormous difference will take place in this building. Firstly, the main entrance is intended to be relocated to the middle of two office rooms in the South of the building, facing the other two office rooms which are the replacement of the old kitchen and canteen. The night hand side grass area will be converted into an inside meeting area with a coffee machine and the toilet will be moved in this newly built enclosure. The left-hand side grass area will now have seating added in order to create an outdoor activity area for the staff.
