the maps show changes that took place in Felixstone from 1967 to 2001
The two maps illustrate how Felixstone changed between the year 1967 and the year 2001.
As can be seen from the picture, Felixstone town experienced significant changes over a period of time. The north east and south sides of the town experienced the biggest changes in the town.
In 1967, there was farmland to the north east of the town. However, it was replaced by an expanded area including a hotel, swimming pool and double tennis courts. Besides, there was a golf course on the left side of the building, shops and the high street in the center still unchanged throughout the given period.
In 2001, a newly private beach was built on the original site of the fish market and the marine pier to make way for and replaced by a public beach. A car park next to the hotel was constructed on the south west of the Felixstone town. At the same time, half of the dunes space was narrowed for wind turbine installation.
