The maps show a road system as it is now and the proposed changes in future to reduce the number of accidents
The given map illustrates a road system in its current condition and proposals for its future changes to minimize accidents.
Overall, the primary proposed changes are the addition of traffic lights and a roundabout, and some reconstructing of existing roadways.
In the centre of the map, there is an intersection of Forest Road and City Road where accidents often happen. It is projected that a roundabout will be constructed at this site to control the traffic. As accidents also occur regularly at the junction of City Road and Low Lane, a set of traffic lights are planned to be installed.
Another accident prone area is at the supermarket access road on City Road, which is replaced by a narrower road leading from the roundabout. In addition, it is predicted that City Road will be reconstructed into a straight road. Similarly the bend at the junction of Low Lane and Forest Road is projected to be removed to reduce accidents there.
