The bar graph presents the percentage of males in senior development positions from 1980 to 2010.

Overall, the figure for men’s participation in senior positions showed upward trend in IBM and Microsoft, and employer in IBM senior development becaming the biggest percentages than others. However, the figure for Apple’s men positions fluctuated.

At the beginning, around less than fifth percent men joined as senior development of IBM, being the most percentages in 1980. Moreover, it is followed by Microsoft and Apple with around 8% and 1% respectively. By the end of 30 years, however, the figure for men as a senior development position at all companies had seen increased significantly and showed the reverse rank. The former being the highest proportion with just over three-fifths percent and the others had risen with 45% and 25% running.

A More detailed look at the graph reveals that the proportion of involvement of men in prominent positions in IBM and Apple showed upward trend. Between 1989 and 2010, the former increased significantly, reaching a peak in 2010, and the figure for men’s participation in Apple saw Continuous and steady rise just around 2% between 1980 and 2000, showing the highest percentages in 2010 by just over a quarter. However, the figure for men senior worker in Microsoft fluctuated, after stagnating briefly in 1990, then showed period of volatility toward the end of the year.
