The pie chart below shows the main reasons why agricultural land becomes less productive. The table shows how these causes affected three regions of the world during the 1990s
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The information about several causes of degradation of agricultural land in terms of its productivity and the percentage of land degradation in three different regions affected by these factors in the period 1990s is illustrated by the figure.

The most significant facts to emerge from the graphs are that over-grazing shows its domination over other causes in making farmland becomes less productive. Moreover, the highest total area degraded was in europe.

There are four three main reasons for this problem, which are over-grazing, deforestation, and over-cultivation. The former is the highest proportion of the cause of soil degradation which accounts for nearly slightly above a third. The two latter have lower portions of 30% and 28% each.

Decreasing soil productivity happened in North America, europe, and oceania which the biggest area degraded was in the second continent having almost slightly below a fourth of its total farmland. it consisted of nearly a tenth of deforestation, 7.7% of over-cultivation and 5.5% over-grazing. In contrast, the NA area had a low portion that was broken which accounted for 5% only with only 0.2% of the first problem and 3.3% and 1.5% of the remaining causes respectively. Meanwhile, oceania had 13% of their land degraded which dominated by over-grazing reason for 11.3% and the remaining caused by the first problem.
