The pie chart below illustrates the average money spent by Japanese and Malaysian on six different categories in the year 2010.

Overall, although there were some differences between the expenditures of people in Japan and Malaysia, the amount of money spent on health care in these two nations was obviously lower than other categories.

Looking at the detail, in Japan, other goods and services was the sector which households spent highest amount of money on with 29%. However, in Malaysia, people trend to using a significant amount of money for housing (34%).The expenditures of feeding in Japan and Malaysia was the second most noticeable sector which accounted for 24% and 27% respectively.

In comparison, while the amount of money spent by Japanese on transporting accounted for one fifth in total, the money used by the Malaysian for this category was less than two times. The expenditures of health caring purpose in Japan was accounting 3% in 2010. In Malaysia, the money paid for this category was more than 3% compared with Japan.
