The charts illustrates the number of houses which are rented and possessed in the UK from 1991 to 2007.

It is apparent that there are four kinds of houses' status, which the figure for houses in total grew gradually during the period. Clearly, the proportion of houses which are possessed, was the highest numbers compared to the number of social houses in the same period.

As can be seen from the charts, over a half of UK citizens owned their house in 1991 with figures ranking on the highest position. In the next sixteen years, the percentage of house owners increased to nearly third-fourth . The figure for private renting houses was joint-highest which revealed a-third of houses in 1991, was as double as that figure in 2007.

Moving on to others kinds of houses, the proportion of houses which supported for disadvantages underwent a slightly fall from a-tenth to minor percent during the period . Having been remained the similar trend, the number of private renting houses was roughly a fifth.
