Perhaps the most striking feature of the pie chart, owned homes made a statement with time. In the 90s, almost a quarter of 22 million homes were occupied by socially rented houses. However, with the addition of 5 million homes over the years, the number of homeowners exhibited drastic expansion by a proportion of 10%. This led to a consequent loss of socially rented homes, which had dropped to 17% by the time 2007 rolled in.
