The pie charts show the proportion of the energy produced from different sources in a country between 1985 and 2003.

The pie chart shows the proportion of the energy generated from six different resources in a country in 1985 and 2003. Overall, although the percentage of energy produced from oil decreased, it still remained the highest figure in both years. On the other hand, natural gas and hydro sources witnessed a significant growth in 2003.

As shown, most of the energy was generated by oil (52%), while the amount of energy produced by natural gas only accounted for a quarter of oil’s figure. Then, it decreased slightly to 39% in 2003 while there was a significant fall from 22% to 8% in the proportion of nuclear power. On the other hand, natural gas figure experienced a considerable increase to 23% in the amount of energy produced.

Regarding other sources, coal figure stood at 8% before increasing by nearly threefold to 22% in 2003. Similarly, while the amount of energy produced by renewable resources increases significantly to accounted for 4% in 2003, the figure for hydro still remained stable at 4%.
