The plans below show the South Wing of Walton Museum in 2008 and 2012 after it was redeveloped.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given maps illustrate the layout of the South Wing of Walton Museum in two different years: 2008 and 2012 after it was modified.
Overall, there are new changes, with the appearance of two more floors and the elevator. It is also noticeable that there were also more services in the entire building.
In the year 2008, the South Wing was quite simple. There was an entrance leading to the reception and reading room. Below these rooms there were the shop and cloaks room which were connected to the level upstairs level with a staircase. The special exhibition room stood next to the shop.
In the year 2012, the South Wing experienced massive changes. The entrance was removed for the new entrance hall. Two more levels were constructed with more facilities. The first new floor had the restaurant and self-service room. There was also the new terrace adjacent to the restaurant. The second new floor was the place where the exhibition room was located. The new elevator was erected, removing the old series of stairs. The special exhibition room plus shop were enlarged, and the reception plus reading room shortened. The former cloaks room was relocated to the reception zone, making way for the children play area. The only component which remained unchanged was the path outside the South Wing.
