Essay topics:

The Proportions of Pupils Attending Four Secondary School Types Between Between 2000 and 2009.

The table shows a comparison between four secondary school types regarding the proportions of pupils attending between 2000 and 2009.
As overall, the first three schools; Specialist Schools, Grammar Schools and Voluntary-Controlled Schools went downwards in the percentages of attending pupils through years. The only one type that went upwards was the community schools although it was the lowest back in 2000.
The proportions of pupils attended the Specialist and Grammar Schools almost took the same path. They started (12% and 24% respectively), and got lower slightly, then became the lowest in 2009. They ended up approximately the same percentage. Unlike, the Voluntary- Controlled Schools that also got lower but in a sharp way. It started with the highest percentage (52%) in 2000 and reached (20 %) in 2009.
On the other hand, Community Schools is the only type that increased by time. It started, like the Specialist schools, with 12% in 2000 and went up to 32% in 2005, till it reached the highest (58%) in 2009. Thus, the community schools is the only type that succeeded at attracting more pupils over time between 2000 and 2009.
