Some experts believe that it is better for children to begin learning a foreign language at primary school rather than secondary school. Do the advantages of this outweight the disadvantages?
In this modernized era, there are those who hold the belief that studying a foreign language should be adopted in the education program at primary school rather than secondary school. In my perspective, i myself strongly advocate this opinion because of the huge benefits that early language education brings about.
Regarding of the disadvantages that most people worry about this educational method, the language confusion is considered to be the first and foremost obstacle. In details, it is a fear of many parents that their children will be perplexed when learning both foreign languages and mother tongue at the same time in young age. These pupils are supposed not to speak their native language influently. Secondly, more additional subjects may make children bored with schoolwork. By doing this, they will lose the interest in campus and don't want to continue taking in them anymore.
On the other hand, the others highly support that the best time to pick up a language is in the primary school time. It was proved by scientists that the younger you are, the more efficiently you learn a new language. In secondary school, it may takes you more time to learn the same content of foreign language compared to primary school students. Moreover, being expert in a foreign language in a very young age may create more opportunities for you to take part in these fascinating events in foreign countries or simply spend more time on other complicated academic subjects.
In conclusion, it is clear that the positive side of the above - mentioned education method outweighs these own disadvantages. Thus, foreign languages should be taught in primary school in order to train our children in becoming the most skilled and talented generation.
