Essay topics:

Some people think that governments in developing countries should introduce new technologies to people in order to improve the quality of life, while others believe that in order to achieve that governments should offer free education for all. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Improving the quality of citizens’ life is a prominent target that many developing countries governments focus on. Some people think new technology is a good tool to achieve it; however, some others hold that free education should be the first place. In my opinion, either of these is good ways to upgrade national living standard, but neither of them is not enough to reach the goal.

New technology could surely improve citizens’ living standard in many aspects. If the cutting-edge technology is introduced to a country, its infrastructures may be significantly promoted, like the medical facilities, traffic system and so on. With these, people could live with more security. Besides, introducing high-tech products or skills can also rise the efficiency of workplace, which result a better economic benefit of whole society. For example, smartphone allows people stay in touch with their clients and partners, so people can do their works outside the office.

It seems effectively to achieve the goal by adopting new technology in short term. However, in long time running, it is not enough. To upgrading people’s living standard, the government must pay more attention to education. Because people who were well educated could create wealth for society as well as themselves. By this way, individuals can not only improve their physical life quality, but also mental, for that they will feel their value when they devote to their career. But, as the limited government budget. it may be unrealizable to provide free education for all as the limited government budget.

In conclusion, both of the two methods can be effective to improve the quality of citizens in developing country, but it is not enough to achieve this goal by just one. In my opinion, the developing countries government should get a balance between the two. In addition, there are also other measures should be taken together, such as providing more employments, improving free healthcare and so on.
