The table shows the differences in methods of travel by British from the year of 1985 to 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that the total miles traveled per person per year increased by 2000. While the car was the most transport modes of travel by the British during the year 2000, the least favorable one was the bicycle.
To explain in more detail, a distance of 3199 by the vehicle was the highest modes of travel in 1985, followed by local bus and other methods of travel which accounted for around 880 in total. This was nearly half the distance traveled by foot and train which stood approximately 500. Furthermore, Bicycle, long-distance bus and taxi were certainly the lowest one with the taxi taking the least traveled (13 miles).
Likewise, after 15 years of that period, although the car stood the greatest mode of travel which saw roughly 1600 miles increase, bicycle was the lowest method of travel accounting for 41 miles. Moreover, taxi, train long distance bus and other method saw a slight increase. However, miles traveled by walking and local bus went down to 237 and 274 miles respectively
