The table below gives information about the problems faced by children in two primary schools in 2005 and 2015.
The table compares the percentage of children who deal with seven educational problems in schools A and B in two different years (2005 and 2015).
Overall, the proportion of students with problems in school A was significantly higher than that of school B over the 10-year period.
In the year 2005, the difficulty accounted for the highest proportion in school A was “following instructions”, at 42%, while the problem with concentrating in lessons was higher than others in school B, took up 15%. Meanwhile, 30% of the total population in school A faced difficulty with spelling, compared to a mere 5% in school B.
Over the following 10 years, school A experienced a significant fall in almost figures for problems, whereas the opposite trend was seen in school B.
In 2015, the “following intrusions” problem dropped sharply by 24% in school A but doubled to 12% in school B. There was 28% of school A students who had difficulty in handwriting, while that figure made up the lowest proportion in school B, at only 7%.
