The table below gives information on consumer spending on different items in five different countries in 2002.
The table illustrates how much citizens in five different nations spent/expended on various categories in 2002. Overall, people in the sampled places, especially Turkish, spent most money on food, drinks and tobacco, but the least money on leisure and education.
Starting with food, drinks and tobacco, Turkey had the largest expense among the five nations, at 32.14%, followed by Ireland, at about 29%. The figures for the rest three countries were the smallest, at just above 15%.
Turning now to clothing and footwear, which accounted for the second highest proportion, the nation which spent the most money was Italy, at 9%. The spending in Ireland, Spain and Turkey was similar, at roughly/around/approximately 6.5%. The clothes and shoes cost the Swedish the least, at only 5.4%.
Looking at leisure and education, the largest percentage was in Turkey, at 4.35%, while the smallest one in Spain, at around 2%. The data in Italy was nearly equal to that in Sweden (approximately 3.2%).
