The table below shows daily oil production in 4 countries from 2000 to 2004.
The table illustrates the amount of oil produced by four different African countries, namely Nigeria, Chad, Congo, and Somalia between 2000 to 2004.
Generally, the data on oil production of Nigeria, Chad, and Somalia experienced an upward trend over the period, apart from Congo. Furthermore, the amount of oil produced in Nigeria was the highest at the end of the period.
In the first three years, the data on oil production of Nigeria and Congo both witnessed a constant decline to 190 thousand tons and 222 thousand tons, respectively. A striking feature was that Nigeria’s oil production increased by 20 thousand tons in 2003, and continue to rise to 213 thousand tons in the last year. By contrast, the amount of oil produced by Congo reached 203 thousand tons - the bottom at the same time.
Regarding Somalia, there was a considerable increase to 17 thousand tons of oil production from 2000 to 2002. In the meantime, Chad did not generate any oil production in the first three years. Only in the year 2003 did Chad produce 8 thousand tons, before standing at the same data as Somalia in the last year of the period.
