The table below shows how many people (in millions) used different forms of
public transport in Milan from 2010 to 2014.
The graph gives information about the number of passengers using public transport, divided into five categories in Milan during a five-year period since 2010.
The most significant facts to emerge from the graph are that the metro accounted for the majority of passenger. Moreover, all types of transport experienced an upward trend of traveler during the time frame.
In 2010, passenger who transported to Milan by using Metro stood at just over 30.000 million, a much higher than other categories. It is, then, followed by train and trams, which was almost equal in the passenger noted at 1,4 million and 1,5 million. The remains were buses ( at 1,0 million) and taxes ( at 0,6 million).
Four years later, Metro showed a significant rise in the passengers from 3,0 to 5,0 million, where the figure still dominated highest. Likewise, train and buses saw an additional traveler each year to 3,6 and 2,4 million respectively. However, whereas trams and taxis grew to above 0,9 million passengers at the end of the period, the figure was in the lowest compared to other transport.
