The given table illustrates the changes that have taken place in the population of New Zealand divided into various age groups in the two years 2011 and 2012. Overall, in both two years, the total people who were living in this country were over 4 million. Additionally, over-65-year-old people had the lowest number, while those were in the range 15 to 39 years old accounted the most.
Looking deeper at the table, ranked in the last position in both 2011 and 2012, people in the ages of over 65 increased by 4% in 2012, compared with 2011's figure, which were over 573 thoudsand in 2011 and 596 thousand in 2012. Also witnessed an upward in its data, there were over 1.331 million citizens staying in New Zealand, which increased in 2012 by 0.6% to 1.339 million people.
Regarding those were under 40 years old, it is observed that there was a small decline in percentage of people living in the country, particularly decreased by 0.2%. In details, over 898 thousand people was reported to live in New Zealand were in the range of under 15 years old in 2011, and this figure declined to 896 thousand in the next year. Being observed to have a downward trend in the total number of people, those figures were 1.577 million and 1.574 million people belonging to the group 15 - 39 years old, respectively.
