The given table depicts the number of five well-known major brands of cell phones which were sold over a six-year period.
There are three clearly visible trends in the data. Firstly, both Apple and Samsung witnessed a progressive upward. Samsung started at 117 million and finished at just over 396 million which was the highest level of sales in 2012. Whereas, Apple began with the most modest figure, 2.3 million in 2007, but saw a prominent rate of speed to just under 136 million in 2012, outnumbering the growth of Samsung's sales and putting apple in the third-highest position.
Nokia volatilized from 2006 to 2012, starting at 345 million then carrying on rising until reaching a peak at 475 million in 2008. From 2008 to afterward, the sales' rates fluctuated around 442 million before suffering final result at 335 million in 2012.
Finally, both Ericsson and Motorola experienced a persistent drop pattern. Each of them achieved the lowest number of sales, only 28 million each in 2012.
