The table shows the salaries of secondary/high school teachers in 2009. Describe the main features of the figure.

The table gives information about junior and senior high school teachers’ incomes in five different countries in 2009.

Overall, while the educators’ salaries in Luxembourg were the highest starting and maximum salary, teachers from Australia had the lowest-paid. It is also noticeable that the teachers in Australia and Denmark only took less than 10 years to achieve the top salary whereas their counterparts in Luxembourg, Japan, Korea had to work for more than 30 years.

As can be seen from the table, secondary and high school teachers in Luxembourg were offered 8000 dollars at the beginning of their career, which is significantly higher than the remained four countries. Denmark took the second place at the first earned income of teachers with 45000, while the starting salary for a beginning teacher in Australia, Japan, and Korea stood at around 30,000 dollars.

After 15 years of career, Luxembourg topped the table with their teachers being paid 119,000 and it continued to grow up to 132,000 within 30 years. However, teachers with at least 15 years of experience in Denmark and Japan only made salaries of 54,000 and 65,000 respectively. Meanwhile, Australian and Korean teachers with the same level were paid the lowest pay rate, at 48,000 a year.
