The two tables illustrate five European countries' sales information about Fairtrade's coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004.
In the first glance, it was noticeable that the sales of coffee in Switzerland was the highest, which was 3 million Euros, also had increased to 6 million in 2004. However, there was a suddenly surged in the UK, from 1.5 million to 20 million, while Denmark and Sweden had an insignificant change, only an increased of 0.2 million.
As the table data demonstrates, the popularity of bananas in Switzerland was the most among the five countries, which was 15 million respectively. In addition, it had shown an upward trend of 37 million in this six-year period. While the UK and Belgium had risen gradually, Denmark, on the other hand, had dipped from 2 to only 0.9 million.
To sum up, people in the UK had preferred coffee in 2004, however, citizens in Switzerland were more fond of bananas than coffee.
