In both years, consumers in Switzerland bought far more bananas than four other nations, with a 32 million Euros increase from 1999. The total banana purchase price in UK and Belgium followed the same trend as Switzerland, with 4.5 million and 3.4 million gained in order. The figure in Sweden and Denmark fell by 0.8 and 1.1 million euros, respectively.
