The fair-trade commerce of coffee and bananas among five European countries in 1999 compare to 2004 is illustrated on the table.

Overall, it is evident that the number of coffee selling in all countries witnessed an increase. However, there were three countries (switzerland, the United Kingdom, and belgium) witnessed a significant increase in banana selling, where the remaining countries saw a decrease last year.

In the initial years, the higher number of coffee selling was switzerland, accounted for 3 million, and then increased twofold in the following year. Denmark and the UK saw almost similar number at the beginning (1.5 and 1.8 millions), then the UK witnessed sharply increase (20 millions), while Denmark observed slightly rise at the end of the period. Regarding other nations, belgium and Sweden stood at 1 and 0.8 million each in the initial year and then saw a small growth in 2004.

Turning to bananas trading, in 1999, switzerland experienced the largest figure (15 million), after that raised to more than three times in the final year. following that, the UK figure was almost twice higher than belgium (1 and 0.6 million each), both nations experienced an increased more than five times in 2004. On the other hand, Sweden and Denmark experienced a decrease during the period. The selling stood at 1.8 and 2 million each in the 1999, and then fell to just about a half in 2004.
