Looking at the table in more details, in the year 2002, Turkey was the nation had the highest percentage of allocation for foods, drinks and tabacco, roughly at 32%, while Ireland ranked the second place in the surveyed table with 28.91%. And then, followed by the proportion of investment into this category in Spain, Italy and Sweden, with 18.80%, 16.36%, 15.77%, respectively. In terms of clothing or footwear, the percentage of expenditure in Italy was the highest, at 9.00%, which was as half much again as that of in Sweden, at 5.40%.

Interestingly the amount of investment into leisure and education was much less than that of spent on food and clothing and no nation among the given five consumed more than 5% on this category. Turkey once again had the highest number of allocation, with 4.35%, which was twofold in comparison with that of expenditures in Ireland, with 2.21%. In addition, Italy and Sweden had an almost equal in the figure for disbursement on education and leisure, at 3.20% and 3.00%, in turn. The lowest figure was witnessed in the percentage of Spain’s expenditures, with 1.98%
