Task 1 The table below shows daily oil production in 4 countries from 2000 to 2004

Essay topics:

Task 1: The table below shows daily oil production in 4 countries from 2000 to 2004.

The table illustrates the proportion of daily oil production in Nigeria, Chad, Congo and Somalia between 2000 and 2004.

In general, Nigeria and Congo had the largest proportion, followed by Chad and Somalia. Nigeria had the clearest fluctuation.

It can be seen easily seen that, in 2000, the figure for Congo’s oil production was the highest with 275,000. Nigeria was the second place of oil provider ( 205,000 ). From 2001 to 2004, Congo’s figures stayed unsteadily, while Nigeria experienced little fluctuation. In 2004, there was a significant switch between these two countries. At the end of the given period,
Nigeria’s proportion increased rapidly and achieved the first place, and Congo reached the second.

There were also some noticeable points with two countries left. Between 2000 and 2004, Somalia’s figure was stable, and increased steadily each year. In the year of 2004, Somalia reached the amount of 50,000, which was 10 times more than the figure in the first year. The proportion of Chad’s soil production had not been reported since 2003, with 8,000 in the same year. This country had the most considerable change, in 2004, it catched up with Somalia, with 50,000.
