The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981, 1991 and 2001.

The pie charts illustrate the variations in expenditure by a particular school in UK across three separate years.

Overall, we can see that the school spends the most in paying teacher’s wages for all the three years. Another significant trend is that the insurance expenditure increased steadily throughout the period, while the salary for the people other than teachers declined.

In 1981, the school spends nearly half of the total expenditure for paying wages for teachers and it increased to exactly half in 1991 before decreasing slightly to 45% after 10 years. Wages for people other than teachers were nearly a third for the first 20years and then declined to just over a tenth.

Only tiny proportion they spend for insuring the school for the first 20 years but later in 2001 it increased to nearly a tenth. Resources fluctuated between these three years, in 1981 it was 15%, 1991 it increased to 20% and then declined straightly to below a tenth in 2001. Another significant change is ‘furniture and equipment’; it varied widely throughout the period.
