The three pie charts below show the changes in annual spending by a particular UK school in 1981,1991 and 2001.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons were relevant.
The pie charts compare the differences in the way a specific school in the UK spent its income over a two-decade period from 1981 to 2001.
Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were five main categories which the UK school spent on.These categories were salaries of teachers, those of other workers, resources e.g.books, furniture and equipment, and finally insurance.
Focusing on the payment of the school staff, while teachers salaries rose significantly by 25% to become 50% in 1991, they eventually stabilized at 45% by the end of the period. However, other workers salaries continued to decline from 28% in 1981 to 22% in 1991, reaching only 15% in 2001.
School equipment witnessed a dramatic fall in its specified amount of income between 1981 and 1991, with the figure declining from 15% to 5%, but that was followed by a striking increase up to 23% in 2001.Regarding books and resoueces, they initially grew from 15% in 1981 to 20% in the middle of the studied period, before plummeting to approximately half that figure in 2001.The last portion of income goes to insurance, which experienced a steady rise throughout the period, with a starting figure of 2% ending up to 8% in 2001.
