The two maps show the developments which small fishing village and surrounding area experienced over a period of 30 years between 1974 and 2004.
Overall, it can be seen that the comparison of two maps reveal a change from small fishing village to a large European tourist resort.
In 1973, the village was a small rural place but for the next 30 year village witnessed dramatic changes. The most noticeable change was at the coast where harbor was demolished to give a way to beaches that extended along the coast. Then on the south-west side the extension of hotels was built near the coast side. All trees in woodland were cut down to make a room for gold course.
At the central area olive bushes were cut down in order to make a way for farmland where fruits and vegetables were grown in order to supply hotels with food. Small village that was originally located right to the next of woodland and olives was extended to the northern-west side and new tourist shops were built there. There was built a stretch on new road from coastal to the small village on the east side of area.
