The diagram below shows the life cycle of a salmon, from egg to adult fish.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The diagram illustrates the different stages and location of life of a salmon fish from egg to mature one.
Overall, the life cycle of salmon begins from egg in fresh water passes through multiple steps and go through three water sources namely river, estuary and ocean and finally come back to fresh water again to lay eggs and start the cycle over.
At first, adult salmons deposit eggs in river water which got incubated. As a result, young salmons emerge from those fertilized eggs and bring up in order to grow in the river water for sometime. After a while they are prepared for their next stage of life and enter to the river mouth to enter into the sea. These fishes then direct their journey to the ocean in order to ensure proper growth and maturation. Once, those young salmons get matured, they again migrate to the spawning area which is river water.
At this stage, adult salmons crossed the estuary one more time to gain entrance to the river from ocean. Finally, they start to spawn and deposit eggs to procreate which further got incubated and the journey of life commences once more.
