The supplied charts represent the ratio of an average family expenditures on home-cooked or restaurant meals in each decade from 1970 to 2000. Meanwhile, the graph depicts the number of meals ordered in different restaurant - fast food and sit down ones.
In general, there was a significant change in sendings on meals over 30 years. Firstly, a vast majority of people preferred cooking at home in 1970, whereas this percentage fell down to 75%, still remaining more popular than buying prepared food in restaurants in the next 10 years. Similarly, considerably more people started spending approximately two-thirds of their budget on restaurant meals in 1990. By 2000, the ratio of family expenses had equally divided between self-cooked meals and restaurant ones.
Considering the quantity of number of orders in the restaurants per year, fast-food meals gradually rose in demand between 1970 to 1980. After this slight changes, I do not eat the increase in number of meals bought occured. By the end of 30-year period, it had grown up to nearly 90 meals. By contrast, sit down restaurants had less considerable rise, increasing roughly two times from 1970 to 2000.
Overall, people started to spend more money on restaurant meals during this period. Likewise, such places had gained a popularity.
