After working in your department for over 3 years, you feel the need to switch your department.
Write a letter to your boss requesting a change in the department. In the letter mention:
• Why do you want to switch departments? • Which department would you prefer? • Why do you think you are a good fit in that department?
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter in reference to request a department change within the organization due to the below-mentioned reasons. Let me explain the situation.
The most prominent reason to switch my department is that I have recently completed my post graduation in sales and marketing from the University of West Australia. Although this was a one-year crash course which provided in-depth knowledge on various strategies required for closing more sales but on the other hand it also provided insights on increasing profitability. Additionally, as you are aware that I have been attached to the pre-sales department for nearly three years and have contributed immensely from the techno-commercial front in winning large scale projects, therefore, I believe that it is based on my past experience and the skills I have acquired during my master degree my preference would be to switch to the sales department.
Additionally, I believe that I have an overall experience of ten years which includes handling important transactions in a sales cycle including pre-sales, solution design and project management moreover with the recent completion of my post-graduate program I would be a right fit for the sales role.
I look forward to your response and hope that you would approve this department change request.
Yours Sincerely
Siad
