During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible in one of his restaurants.

Write a letter to the businessman. In your letter

Remind him when and where you met

Tell him what king of job your interested in

Say why you think you would be suitable for the job

Dear John,

How are you? I am Jack Dane. Do you recall our acquaintance on board flight DC 365 last week which departed from New York to Washington? If it ring any bells to you, I’m writing to let you know that I would like to take your hand of friendship with regards to the job opportunity in one of your lucrative restaurants that you have suggested on that day.

After careful consideration, I have decided to choose my career as a supply chain analyst in your organisation. I have done my Masters in Business and Finance in the year 2001 followed by 15 years of successful career as a senior analyst in Amazon, an e-commerce company.

I am sure that I can thrive in hotelier industry as I have excellent exposure in dealing with inventory and warehousing management through use of several techniques like: FIFO- first in-first out method which will avoid spoilage of perishable goods, JIT- just in time inventory management where goods are ordered based on demand only and finally, WCM- world class manufacturing technique where waste will be reduced by eliminating activities which cause it.

Hope you find my profile interesting and awaiting your reply.

Faithfully,

Jack Dane
