Dear Sir,
My name is Amy and I am writing this letter to formally apply for the unpaid work at the museum. I discovered about this position in print media advert and I believe I would make a strong candidate.
Since I have been looking to gain some real-life experience in paleontology, I believe this position would provide me with great insight of workflow at the museum. Moreover, I am also preparing to apply for graduate school next year and this experience will not only boost my application at university but also will act as a steppingstone towards my future goals.
To prove my candidacy, I would like to add that, I have earned a bachelor’s degree in Paleontology from Duke University which is one of the best educational institute in north east. Apart from that, I also have indulged in internship experience at Mat Museum which provided me with exceptional experience. I have no doubt that my educational qualifications and apprentice period will come in handy at during my time at the museum.
Finally, I am available anytime from 4pm-8pm during weekday and as you require on weekends. Please do not hesitate to reach out via email should you have any more questions. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Sincerely,
Amy Adams
