The system used for rubbish/garbage collection in your local area is not working properly. This is causing problems for you and your neighbors.
Write a letter to the local council. In your letter
describe how the rubbish collection system is not working properly
explain how this is affecting you and your neighbours
suggest what should be done about the problem
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to bring to your attention the issues we are facing with the garbage disposal in our area.
Our neighborhood includes around 20 households and we share a common garbage disposal site. The compactor for the garbage collector has not been working for the last three days. As a result, trash has been piling up in it, leading to it overflowing out on to the adjacent areas.
Since it has been windy all this week, the garbage has been scattered around the entire locality. It is not only resulting in ticks and flies emanating from the trash, but it is also a concern for the kids playing outside and accidentally coming in contact with it and potentially catching a disease.
To begin with, I would request you to immediately have the compactor fixed. If it will take some time, I would request to increase the frequency of trash collection to at least twice a day so that it does not end up on the roads.
I look forward to a prompt response upon receipt of this letter.
Yours faithfully,
John Doe
