You and your family are living in rented accommodation in an English speaking country. You are not satisfied with the condition of some of the furniture.
Write a letter to your landlord. In your letter
introduce yourself
explain what is wrong with the furniture
say what action you would like the landlord to take
Dear Mr Anderson,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the furniture in your apartment that my family have been renting for over the last two years. Most furniture is in the satisfactory state, but I believe that the following items need either repairing or replacing.
Firstly, the model of the TV set is outdated. It seems to have been designed in the late nineties. My brother, who is a sales assistant, informed that the manufacturer stopped producing this model of television in 1998, when we tried to purchase the replacement for the old remote control. We, therefore, still use the old one, despite its malfunction.
Secondly, the sofa is in poor condition. I think that it is the high time to substitute it with a fresh one, since there are numerous holes in the surface. They are constantly growing in both number and size. My wife has attempted to fix the damage, but it does not help, as the material appears irreparably worn out.
In conclusion, I would be grateful, if you do something about the TV set and sofa as the landlord, because my family is experiencing discomfort. My neighbors say that renting such an apartment does correspond to the standard of living in London. I look forward to your reply with solution.
Your sincerely,
Tolegen
