You are due to start an English language course next week but you will not be able to because you have some problems.
Write a letter to the manager of the language school, Sally Flannigan. In your letter:
explain your situation
describe your problems
tell him/her when you think you can start.
Write at least 150 words.
You should spend no more than 20 minutes on this task.
Dear Sally,
Hope you are doing well. I am writing to inform you that I will not be able to attend the English language course next week due to some problems. Let me explain in detail.
To elucidate I was looking forward to join this course and improve my speaking skills as I have to speak in public forums but unfortunately my reporting manager has resigned on a short notice. Since the company cannot find a suitable replacement therefore for time being they have passed his responsibilities on me which has increased work pressure drastically in the past few weeks. Although this indirectly means I have been promoted however on the other side I have been allocated additional work responsibilities hence I am unable to start my English course next week.
Furthermore, looking at the present situation I would request you to allow me some time till the things settle down in my office. I believe I will be back to normal phase by the end of June as the management would be able to hire someone by then therefore I would request you to adjust me in a new batch in 1st week of July.
I hope you would accept my suggestion.
Yours sincerely
