You live in an English speaking country and you want to do some voluntary, unpaid work in a developing country. Write a letter to a company called Cultural Expeditions, which organizes such trips. In your letter:
• Explain why you want to do the voluntary work.
• State what your skills and experience are.
• Indicate where you would like to volunteer and for how long
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to request volunteering opportunity in the field of teaching english for secondary schoolers in India. it would be suitable if it lasts for six months or less, starting from next August.
The reasons behind my decision is to have a unique experience by dealing with a totally different culture, and as a part of my master's research in education in developing countries. Furthermore, I choose India specifically because of rich culture and special lifestyle of its citizens, also because of its historical places that would make my journey more interesting.
This new experience will affect my CV positively, as I have been working as English teacher for three years. Although it is not my first language, but I have lived here in London since 2008. Additionally, my bachelor degree in linguistics alongside with my recent IELTS score, which is a band 8, can make me suitable for such a job.
Thank you for your consideration, and I am waiting for your respond to my request.
Yours faithfully,
Sara Eltantawy
