You recently completed a course and you borrowed a book from your teacher which you couldn't return in time. You would like to return the book now. Write a letter to your teacher and say:
- What book was it?
- How helpful was the book?
- Explain why you couldn't return it in time?
Dear Mrs. Perriz,
I am writing this letter to apologize to you for not returning the book that I borrowed from you for my graduation exam last month on time.
The book is titled 'Practical English Usage' by Michael Darwin. It was the latest edition of 2019. Its cover is purple, and it has almost over 500 pages.
This book contains a thorough explanation of every basic concept of English grammar. It has not only clarified my doubts but also has reduced the number of mistakes I used to make earlier. I was able to achieve an A+ grade in my recent exam with its help.
After my exams were over, I went to Canada along with my family on a one-month vacation. Hence, I was unable to return your book. As I have returned to India, I shall visit college the following Monday and return the book to you.
I am grateful for the support provided to me throughout.
Yours sincerely,
Hannah Montana
