You recently stayed in a hotel in a large city. The weather was very unusual for the time of year and the heating / cooling system in the hotel was quite inadequate.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter:
• give details of what went wrong
• explain what you had to do to overcome the problem at the time
• say what action you would like the manager to take
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing this letter to express my dissastisfaction for the service provided in your hotel during my last stay. Let me explain in detail.
My name is Mark and I book your hotel frequently whenever I visit London. I stayed in your hotel last week for a single night in room no 202. As I was flying from Germany I was too tired and from the airport I requested your staff to switch on the heater as the weather was too cold. To my surprise, I been informed in the reception that heater in my alloted room was not working and promised to provide a portable heater as the other rooms are occupied.
I waited couple of hours and there was no sign of providing the portable heater. Nobody in reception bothered to answer my calls during that time. Luckily, I had my winter jackets purchased from germany in my luggage. I covered myself with the jacket and slept for whole night.
As a frequent visitor, I demand a full refund or a free night stay in your chain of hotels for the inconvienience caused.
A swift response is expected.
Yours faithfully,
Mark
