Essay topics:

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

You have recently moved to a different house.

Write a letter to an English-speaking friend. In your letter

• explain why you have moved

• describe the new house

• invite your friend to come and visit

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear ............,

Dear Anna,

Hi, how are how? It has been a long time since we last spoke or met and I hope you are having a joyous time. I am writing this letter to express my happiness and excitement of moving to a new and bigger house.

As you know our earlier dwelling was very small for our family of four and we had been looking for a suitable place for quite sometime. There were only two bedrooms with a single bathroom, a small kitchen and living room. Moreover, the place felt stuffy as it was not well ventilated leading to respiratory issues as well.

I am glad to tell you that our new house is not only spacious and comfortable but also very well furnished. It has four bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a humongous living and dining room and a fully equipped kitchen. Furthermore, there are a few pleasantly surprising add ons such as a big lawn in the front which can be used for hosting guests, a big garage and a separate storage room.

Well, what are you doing this Sunday? I have kept a small house warming party and It would be great fun to have you here. My new address is Flat number 50, First Floor, New Friends Colony, New Delhi.

Hope to see you this weekend. Keep in touch.

Lots of love,

Prabhpreet Kaur
