I am writing this letter in regards of my absence from the team meeting held yesterday. I was in my office when I received an urgent call regarding my aunt's health issue. She had suffered an heart attack and was taken to the hospital quickly.
My aunt lives alone and very far from our house. Her son has been overseas on work trip, So there was no one to take care of her at that devastating time. I had to leave in a hurry. I could not even collect my belongings properly because of the urgency. I have talked to my colleagues, They will help me to catch up with the important updated of the meeting. As I am still at the hospital, I will request you to allow few days off from work. I will be in touch with me fellow workers.
I hope for cooperation from your side and I promise to catch up with all the important updates that I will be missing during my absence.
