Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to let you know that I am interested in doing volunteer work at your establishment in my spare time. The position was advertised on the local newspaper last week Friday.
Recently, I learnt through a radio advertisement that Saint John Health Centre is understaffed and have requested from authorities additional work force to cater for the shortfall. In addition, I have great passion for helping people who need assistance most especially those who are ill.
Let me explain in details my skills and capabilities. I am a hygiene and sanitation officer by profession so working in the sanitary department would not be new for me. I can work effectively unsupervised in cleaning the both the private and public wards, the theatre and the laboratory.
Based on my normal work schedule, it seems I would have plenty of free time from 15th March, which is next month, and would like to put in ten hours weekly. Working twice a week on Monday's and Friday's in the late afternoons would be fine for me.
