The table below gives information about salaries of secondary/high school teachers in five countries in 2009.

The bar chart compares teachers’ salaries in secondary/ high schools in five different countries in 2009. Overall, Australian teachers had the lowest average salaries however took less time to reach top salaries than their counterparts, except those in Denmark. By contrast, teachers in Luxembourg earn the highest average income but spent quite a lot of time to achieve top salaries. Regarding Australian teachers and Denmark teachers, the annual and the maximum salaries were equal.
secondary/high school Japanese teachers starting salaries were the lowest, at $28.000, however, their annual income was higher than those in Australia, with $48.000. Similarly, their maxim income was also higher than those in Denmark, with $62.400 compared to $54.000. The highest average income for teachers was recorded in Luxembourg with $80.000 at the beginning, this number for the maximum was $139.000, which doubled in Denmark. Nevertheless, the years taken to reach top salaries for teachers in Luxembourg was higher, with 30 years.
Starting salaries of Korean teachers only stood at fourth place($35.000), however the figures for the annual and maximum salaries stood at third place ($52.000) and second ($84.500) place, respectively. In addition, It took Korean teachers 37 years to earn top salaries, which is the longest time on the table. The average income of Australian and Denmark teachers was quite low, yet, they only spent 9 years and 8 years respectively to reach top salaries.
